Happy Thanksgiving with the Butterball Hotline

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!! I'm sending my best wishes to you this holiday season for a fun and relaxing weekend filled with plenty of stuffing and pumpkin bread (and whatever else you like to enjoy -- those are two of my favorites). We'll keep it brief this morning, as the Macy's parade is about to begin. I don't know many households that haven't made a frantic call to the Butterball Hotline during the week of Thanksgiving. The New York Times published an article this week digging into the origin story of this lifesaver and some of the amusing and downright touching anecdotes callers have experienced throughout the years. Spoiler, one of these stories did make me cry. To match these real-life stories with a pop culture counterpart, I always enjoy revisiting the season three Thanksgiving episode of The West Wing, where President Bartlet discovers the call center for the first time and makes a call as Joe Betherson from Fargo. He thinks it's a very good service that they provide! And so do I. Fingers crossed they can help you with any questions this holiday season. Happy Thanksgiving!!
